Through the "Investment Charter" the Gabonese Republic reaffirms its commitment to an economic and social development strategy based on the development of the private sector.
The Charter enshrines a new definition of the role of the State acting in partnership with the private sector.
It sets out the objectives and mechanisms implemented to encourage investment, business expansion and individual activities without discrimination according to the origin of the investor entrepreneur or the sector of activity in which he operates.
In certain sectors of activity, particularly those related to the exploitation and processing of natural resources, specific codes supplement this Investment Charter regarding the specific technical and financial provisions adopted for these sectors.
The institutional framework, legislative and regulatory texts have been adapted to achieve the objective of modernization, simplification and clarity to facilitate economic activity and ensure its regulation in a transparent and fair manner.
